Community Involvement @ Parent Workshops Manual Arts
Although our event was focused on high school students we decided to also include the community when we participated in out reach events, like the Parent Engagement at Manual Arts. There we participated in doing activities with children from ages 8-16 years old on mindfulness. Our girls worked closely with children by providing entertainment such as arts and crafts, board games, dancing, and so much more. Being actively engaged helps relieve stress and brings happiness! Youth may be experiencing stress but are unaware of what it even means or feels like. Therefore, we decided to teach these future leaders at a young age good habits for their well-being. As they grow up, we hope they carry out the stress-relieving techniques throughout their journey.
Women’s March, Supporting UTLA, Becoming - Michelle Obama, Voters Registration and more!
We also participated in the Women's March as a means of empowering women across the nation. We strongly advocated the need for Women's Rights because they're our fundamental rights. Through the process we met amazing people that further inspired us to promote mental health awareness.
