Taking mindfulness classes myself I figured why not be part of a team who wants to do the same for our community. There is a lack of resources but our panther girls are motivated to provide them on campus.
Arathzy Portillo ( Social Media) - University of Southern California
I have become a strong advocate for mental health awareness after listening to heartbreaking stories from my very close friends. The trauma and the lack of motivation to do anything when dealing with personal problems is what inspired me to promote our mental well-being.
Santa Matul ( Logistics) - UC Riverside
The Girls Build program has taught me to become much more civically engaged. I have learned about the importance of being well educated about social issues. I think Mental Health Awareness is often left unattended. I am proud to have been a part of advocating for mental health awareness.
Yanci Bonilla ( Treasury) - Mount Saint Marys University
I decided to join the Girls Build program because I wanted to inspire girls like my self to find comfort. I have dealt with many challenges throughout my life. Counselors have helped me become emotionally stable. I know that the project we created had great impact to the high school students!
